Pastoral Care Program

At Aranmore, Pastoral Care is the intentional actions and processes that foster in students a strong sense of well-being, belonging and security. At Aranmore, Pastoral Care is not merely a complementary practice but is integrated into the foundation of all dimensions of the College. We strive to know each student well, so that we are able to assist them to become the best they can be.

Each young person is supported by a student care team comprising of their Form Teacher, Dean and Deputy Principal. Students can also receive additional care and guidance from our Pathways Team, School Counsellors, Chaplain or Head of Ministry. Of course, we can’t do it without your support. We believe in honest and open communication between the College and parents and welcome your enquiries. We encourage all parents, where possible, to become involved in College life.
  • The Form Teacher

Students are placed in a form class at the beginning of Year 7. The form teacher meets with the class each day, providing an opportunity to develop relationships within the group and create a safe and caring environment. The form class engages in an extended Pastoral Period on a Tuesday morning. This time includes the opportunity to participate in a multitude of activities with varying focuses.

The form teacher stays together with their form class for the six years they are at the College and becomes a very significant adult in the lives of the students.
