PHIL-A-SHAVE HAIR-TACULAR SPECTACULAR FUNDRAISERThis term, our main fundraising event is in memory of Mr Phil Andrews, who sadly passed away late last year, after decades of service to the Aranmore Community. Donations will be collected on campus and online via a donation portal, during Weeks 1-3 of Term 3. All proceeds raised will go to the Cancer Council of Western Australia. Mr Phil Andrews, a caring, community-minded man, often seen sporting a beard himself, was also known for donating his time and energy to many good causes. Mr Chis Simpson, currently missing, or undercover and hidden beneath a mighty beard, has kindly volunteered to ‘put his beard on the line.’ We are asking people to vote via donation to our cause, which will result in Mr Simpson either having a, ‘’timely trim’’ or a ‘’shave to save’’ so he may feel the breeze of freedom on his face again. This fundraising event will culminate in a ‘World’s Greatest Shave’ style event on Friday 6 August, at recess on the grounds of Aranmore, where Mr Chris Simpson will either have a ‘timely trim’ or be freed from the bonds of his beard, depending on which option has received a larger number of donations. Students will also be allowed to pledge a donation on this day, in order to share the honour of ‘trimming’ or ‘shaving’ part of Mr Simpson’s beard. Students will also be allowed to wear free dress on this day, by making a gold coin donation to the cause. |
