Congratulations to all students who participated in the HSC Touch Rugby on Thursday 7 June. Although the weather wasn’t the best, the students were very well behaved and played some great touch rugby.

We had four teams in the competition, three boys and one girls team. The Aranmore Boys A, Aranmore Boys B and Aranmore Girls went through the pool stages unbeaten, with Aranmore boys C losing one game. Unfortunately Aranmore A had to play Aranmore B in the Boys Semi-Final so only one Aranmore team was able to go through to the final, it was one of the hardest games of the day.

Aranmore A are going through to play Lakelands College in the Grand Final. The Aranmore girls team made easy work of the Semi-Final and also progressed to the Grand Final to also play Lakelands College. Both the boys and the girls teams coming away victorious against Lakelands in the Grand Finals with a great team effort by both teams.

Standout performances for the day were Austin Anderson, Kauri Tipene Grace and a very excited Niki Ngaureure in the boys team and Grace Mcfillin, Mel Tobie and Anahera Terahui in the girls team.

A big thanks to Mrs Evans, Mrs Grace and Mr Hamilton for braving the cold, wet weather to coach these teams.
