Year 7 Camp

On Monday 15 March, 105 very excited Year 7 students and nine staff headed to the beautiful, picturesque Swan Valley Adventure Centre for an overnight camp. Our aim was to have fun, talk to at least 10 other students whom we may not have spoken to in the first six weeks of Term 1, and build positive relationships through teamwork. Our camp song, was Bruno Mars’ Count on me:

“You can count on me like 1, 2, 3
I'll be there
And I know when I need it
I can count on you like 4, 3, 2
And you'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah”

Students participated in a variety of activities such as canoeing, orienteering, flying fox, team building activities, and black zone. On the last day, a few students didn’t want to leave and suggested that they needed to have another camp soon!

We are lucky to have such a supportive, caring and diverse Year 7 cohort whose experiences on camp have now given them the confidence to tackle the challenges of being a high school student!
